Does sauna use help you stay sharp as you age?

The strongest research (the Finnish KIHD cohort) compared 4–7 sessions a week against once a week, so that's the range most associated with the cardiovascular and cognitive benefits above. Most people build up to this gradually rather than starting there.

Nearly all of the long-term research above, including the JAMA Internal Medicine and Age and Ageing studies, was conducted using traditional (heat-based) saunas, not infrared.
